Flying Horseshoe Redesigned
Hi everyone! My name is Lacy Beck, creator of Flying Horseshoe. Thanks for joining me and my family on this exciting journey! Here is a little background story of myself and how I came to finally build this brand after 5 years of stewing on the idea.
Being an army brat, I moved around some. I lived in several locations but majority of the time I was raised in Redding, California and moved to Tulare, California in high school. I graduated from Fresno State California University and I majored in Equine Animal Science (horses). From there I was recruited by a very handsome fellow (Chad Bransgrove, the future love of my life) to move to the panhandle of Oklahoma to manage a swine facility for a large pork producing corporation. I always wanted to train horses and live on a cattle ranch, however, I was open to new ideas - I new someday I would achieve my dream. Even though I didn't know a thing about swine, I accepted the job. This decision put my life on a whole different racetrack, but I can say to you now, it was the right choice. Chad and I began dating shortly after I moved to Oklahoma. I did not intend this - but I'm pretty sure he did.
I have been dating Chad Bransgrove, owner of Bransgrove Ranch, for 5 years now. Together we have a beautiful baby girl, Aubrey Ann. She just had her first birthday at the end of June! Time flies. Just before she turned one, I had decided to quit my (what I thought at the time) wonderful dream job. I worked my way up as production manager at the age of 24 for a fortune 500 company and was on track to become the next operation manager. (There are only 7 operation manager positions out of 5000+ employees.) Before I left, I had 20 managers working under me, 65 employees, and 400,000 head livestock. Plus all of the fancy perks; ability to travel, company truck, work phone, laptop, the best coworkers and employees I could possible ask for - I truly had everything I could've wanted. Everything was lined up for me to keep working up the ladder before the age of 30. I loved my job. I am a workaholic and dedicated my life to the company. It was hard for me to balance work life and home life. This was not fair for my family and it was extremely difficult being away from my daughter. It was clear that after having Aubrey my priorities changed. I realized my work was just a job and although I love my job, I love her more. Being her mom IS my dream. So I made a big decision. It was a shock to everyone when I decided to leave the company - including me. I had just given up everything that I worked so hard for and loved. I have never not had a job and I began to slightly panic.
Since quitting my job, I have been loving being a mom and spending all of my time raising our daughter. Along with this, I have been able to refocus my mind and work on what truly matters to myself and my family. I have been brainstorming of building something that I could pass down to our children for over 5 years now - and I can finally say I am bringing this idea to life. I have created a branch off the brand, Flying Horseshoe, to expand the Bransgrove Ranch. My purpose in doing this is to encourage everyone to go after their dreams no matter how difficult and out of reach they may seem. On the website, we will share with everyone products that we use and love in our family, sell our beloved ranch working Australian Shepherd puppies that we raise, sell the horses that I train, and to spread the word to support local farmers and ranchers - eat more local beef. Along with this I want to share with everyone what days on the ranch are for our family and what it is like to raise a rancher’s daughter.
We have a busy lifestyle and it just got even busier. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see just how wild our life is.
I can’t wait to meet you!
